Vincennes Community Schools held their required public hearing on their 2025 budget Monday night at its regular Board meeting.
The overall Corporation budget request is estimated just over 42 million dollars for next year. That is up from the actual budget this year of just over 39.3 million dollars. The advertised tax rate is set for a dollar-37 cents per hundred in assessed property value; however, that rate is expected to be lowered by the time of final budget adoption. The current year’s tax levy is nust over 91 cents per hundred; Corporation officials expect the 2025 rate to end up similar to this year.
The V-C-S-C Board is set to approve the budget proposal next month. It will then go to the Indiana Department of Local Government Finance for review, adjustment, and approval. That must be done by the end of this year.
