The Indiana Court of Appeals took up the appeal of a murder case by an Oaktown man yesterday in a special session in Monrovia.
In June of 2023, a Knox Superior Cort One jury convicted Kevin Hatfield of the murder of his wife Jasmine in their Oaktown home. The actual murder, and his arrest, happened in June of 2021. Hatfield was sentenced to 72 years in prison by Judge Gara Lee in October of last year.
/The appeal is one of around 40 mobile oral arguments heard at locations across the state each year. The appellate justices will discuss the case, and come down with a ruling at a later date.
