Area communities and counties have received their latest funding from the State of Indiana’s Community Crossings Matching Grant. The statewide grant program funds road, street, and infrastructure assistance for Indiana communities and counties.
Knox County got the maximum amount in this round, with 1.5 million dollars., as did the city of Bicknell. Pike and Sullivan Counties also got the max amount, with the City of Loogootee taking in just under that cap. Martin County was close to a million dollars as werll; they got around 995-thousand dollars.
Besides Loogootee, the City of Linton was next in community grants, with just over 300-thousand dollars. Shoals got 235-thosuand; Washington received nearly 225-thousand; and Patoka wound up with nearly 101-thousand. Finally, the town of Merom came in at nearly 22-thousand dollars in grants.
Communities and counties will add a25 or 50 percent match, depending on INDOT criteria. Right now, INDOT shares two rounds of C-C-M-G funding each year.
