With Phase One Open, All Eyes Move to Washington Avenue Phase Two

Washington Avenue Phase One is complete– but now, the focus shifts to Washington Avenue Phase Two. The second set of work on that stretch will happen on Washington between Emison and Saint Clair.

Physical closure of that stretch begins in the spring of 2027. However, Vincennes Mayor Joe Yochum says some restrictions are possible int he fall of 2026. This project will also include work on the Washington/Saint Clair intersection.

Among the largest inconveniences will be for those living along that corridor between Emison and Saint Clair. Engineering crews are working now to ensure those residents can have full entrance and exit access to their homes.
