Patricia Katherine Dillon, 88, passed away peacefully on November 27, 2024 at Franciscan Hospice in Indianapolis, IN. She spent her final months in the care of her son Robert and daughter-in-law Katey. Patricia was born on October 12, 1936, in Vincennes, the daughter of Orville and Laura (Allen) Grove. She married Howard E. Dillon, and he preceded her in death on May 26, 2006.
Patricia’s life was marked by her ability to see the good in every person. She attended Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Her dedication extended beyond the church, as she generously devoted her time and expertise to helping others through her volunteer work with the IRS, preparing taxes for the residents of Vincennes. Many will remember her for her kindness and patience, as she guided them through the complexities of tax season. Her sense of duty was also evident in her past involvement with the Lawrenceville VFW and the American Legion in Vincennes.
Survivors include her son Robert Dillon and his wife Katey of Columbus, IN; brother, Gerhard Grove; grandchildren, Jordan Dillon, Adryan Dillon, Susan Leonard, Heather Dillion, Bette Mackey, as well as several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Patricia is preceded in death by her parents, Orville and Laura Grove, her husband Howard E. Dillon and her sons, Larry J. Dillon and Howard E. Dillon II.
Friends may visit with Patricia’s family from 10:00 am until the hour of service time of noon on Thursday, December 5, 2024, at Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home, 524 Broadway, Vincennes, IN 47591. Rev. Tony Ernst will officiate, and Patricia will be laid to rest in Memorial Park Cemetery next to her husband Howard. The Dillon family has requested memorial contributions be made in Patricia’s name to Vincennes Lincoln High School, Vincennes Rivet High School or the Vincennes Police Department.
