Workers in Illinois will see a bit more in their paychecks, starting January first. That day, the Illinois minimum wage will increase from 14 to 15 dollars. Workers who receive tips as part of their duties will get a nine dollar minimum wage floor, with youth workers’ wages going up to 13 dollars an hour. Youth workers are classified as those under 18 working fewer than 650 hours per calendar year.
The dollar wage bump is the seventh and final minimum wage increase in Illiniis. It is a process started by Illinois Governor J-B Pritzker.
