WIN Energy REMC has announced three groups will get funding as part of their Operation Round-Up grants. The money is provided by their customers’ willingness to round up their electric bills to the nearest dollar; the extra goes into this grant fund.
Two of the recipients are from Pike County. Both the Jefferson Township Fire Department, and Pike County E-M-S got funds for their departmens. Jefferson Townshp will use their funds for water rescue, while Pike County E-M-S is purchasing “stair chairs” to help their patients. The third group to be funded is Gibson County’s Union Fire Department; they will use their money to buy a backup power generator.
Over the last 12 years, the program has given back over 748-thousand dollars to help area groups with funding.
