A round of severe storms raced through the area last night, leaving some downed trees and power lines in its wake.
Among the hardest-hit areas was northern Knox County, with various power outages and a tornado warning. The warning was for rader-indicated rotation first found in the Freelandville area, and continuing into northeastern Knox County and Greene County.
At its peak, around nine-30 last night, Duke Energy reported over 22 hundred people without power across the county. The biggest number was around 700 affected in an area between Emison and Oaktown. Duke Energy started the power restoration efforts in the evening and overnight hours.
