Arthur Canull, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and decorated serviceman, passed away on April 17, 2025, in Vincennes, IN. Born in Fairfield, IL, on January 4, 1955, Arthur’s passion for life and love for his family defined his remarkable 70 years.
Arthur and the love of his life, Regina “Claar” Canull, shared an unbreakable bond since their marriage on January 4, 1985, in Columbus, OH. Together, they nurtured a loving family, which includes their children, Amber Canull-Stone of Vincennes, IN, April Claar-Murphy (Bill) of Grove City, OH, Sara Dodson (Eddie) of Anna, IL, Rachel Wright, and Tammy Risley of Chicago, IL. His legacy continues to grow through his 18 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, who brought him immeasurable joy. He also leaves behind his devoted sister, Linda Bricker (Eddie) of Lawrenceville, IL.
Arthur’s life was one of service and camaraderie, having proudly been a member of both the Army and the Navy before retiring. Known for his friendly demeanor and sense of adventure, he created lasting memories for all who had the pleasure of his company. His passions for hunting, fishing, and shooting guns echoed his adventurous spirit.
Arthur was preceded in death by his loving parents, Carl Franklin and Elise “Sennet” Canull, his son Dennis Canull, and his three sisters.
A graduate of high school, Arthur’s life was a testament to the power of love, laughter, and the importance of family ties. He will be fondly remembered, and his stories and laughter will continue to echo in the hearts of all who knew him. Arthur Canull’s unwavering spirit and the joy he spread will be sorely missed but never forgotten.
